Shariah Advisory Committee

Independent scholars, binding rulings.

Alongside the executive team, an independent committee of three scholars governs every TerraCore IF Suite product: written approval before anything launches, an annual Shariah audit per deployment, purification of any non-compliant income to charity — serving fixed terms, with no executive role and no shareholding. Questions

Straight answers.

Who holds the customer's money and the licence?
Your institution does. TerraCore IF Suite is white-label technology and Shariah structuring; every deposit, financing contract and Takaful cover is offered by the partner institution under its own National Bank of Ethiopia licence. TerraLink does not take deposits or extend financing.
Is it really Shariah-compliant, or just marketed that way?
Every module is built on a named Islamic contract, structured to AAOIFI standards and approved in writing by an independent Shariah Advisory Committee before it is offered to any partner. The Committee audits each deployment annually, and any non-compliant income is purified and donated to charity. Your own Shariah board reviews and approves the same documentation.
How does it integrate with our core banking or wallet system?
Through REST APIs to your ledger, KYC and payment rails, plus a USSD gateway and mobile SDK. Contract-first stubs and a sandbox are available from day one, with reconciliation and settlement flows included.
Can we launch only one module?
Yes. Most partners start with Wallet and Savings, or with Finance for a specific segment, and add modules as the base grows. Each module carries its own Shariah certificate.
How does TerraCore Score decide, and is it acceptable under Shariah?
The score uses behavioural signals the customer has consented to share — wallet inflows, bill and merchant payments, instalment history, agent activity — and returns a score with the reasons that produced it. It informs eligibility, limit and tenor; it does not change the Murabaha or Qard Hasan contract, so the Shariah Advisory Committee reviews the decision policy, not the model's mathematics. Declines always pass through a human officer, and customers receive the reasons in their own language.
Where is scoring data held, and who owns the model?
Data stays in Ethiopia, under your institution's control and consent records. TerraLink operates the scoring service and the base models; models retrained on your portfolio are yours. No customer data is pooled across institutions without a written data-sharing agreement.
Do you also build non-financial systems?
Yes. TerraLink is a technology company with a full solutions portfolio — banking wallet systems, a full-suite microfinance system, customer onboarding, agent and agency-network management, TerraCore Estate property management, enterprise ERP and TerraCore Score. The financial engines deploy conventionally or interest-free; TerraCore IF Suite is the Shariah-governed flagship, with its own certificates and audit.
Who is TerraCore Estate for, and does it fit Ethiopian practice?
Housing corporations, government estate owners, developers and any institutional landlord with a large portfolio. It is built for Ethiopian practice from the ground up: Ethiopian-calendar billing periods, Amharic and English throughout, mobile-money and bank collections with reconciliation, scored waiting lists and competitive tenders for commercial units, and maker-checker approvals with a tamper-evident audit trail for public accountability.
How is Mudarabah profit calculated and distributed?
Customer savings join a pool invested in Shariah-screened activities on your balance sheet. Profit actually earned is shared at a ratio disclosed before deposit. The platform runs the monthly declaration and quarterly distribution, with the Committee reviewing the calculation.
How long does deployment take?
The documentation, Shariah approvals and integration kit already exist, so a first module on an existing app or USSD channel is typically a matter of weeks — the variable is your core system and internal approvals.
